When we fall short
If your move didn’t go right, flag it on the contact page and Yolanda has it to me by the next morning as a rule. Since 2012 every single job has gone out on a written flat rate, and protecting that record is exactly why we’d sooner hear the problem and fix it.

Crew shows up
In early, the uniformed crew salts down an icy ramp, confirms any building COI is already filed, and lays the floor runners along the path we’ll walk.

Nothing gets carried until it is protected: blankets and shrink-wrap go over the furniture, the upright is belted and padded, and the door frames and hardwood are covered.

Loading begins
Piece by piece the crew works the load out, down the staircase and through the doorway, strapping each item onto the truck and marking it against the inventory before the next one moves.

When I put my name on Community Moving Crew back in 2012, I set one rule and have never once bent it: whatever figure goes in writing is the figure you pay once your last box is inside, with not a dollar dreamed up after the truck is loaded. Our trucks are bought and paid off, and no hand on my crew touches a family’s piano or heirloom before that mover has earned it, learning the trade at my side.
